I probably should have been more specific on what shade of pink we’d be talking about today, like I have with the other colors in the Splashes of Color series, but the truth is it’s not exactly easy to find pictures of pink outside of little girls’ rooms and nurseries.
This light shade of pink is the color I originally had in mind, and I think this room is a beautiful example of using pink to create a calm, peaceful atmosphere without being overwhelmingly feminine.
On the other hand, I just couldn’t skip over the pictures showing splashes of hot pink. It really is such a fun color, and I especially love it when paired with oranges and greens.
It turns out that muted tones of pink makes a great accent to a neutral room.
And at this point I’m starting to think that any color looks chic when combined with whites and silvers.
Bright pinks are definitely bold and daring. They draw your eye and make you look twice.
And while pinks will probably always be associated with little girls’ rooms and nurseries…
I’m definitely going to be on the lookout for other places I can use them around my house as well!
How about you? Is pink a color you use in your home decorating? Do you think of it as a very feminine or childish color?
Next week, we’ll balance things out with a look at navy blue!

Purple is my all time favorite color, but I’ve found that there is more pinks in my house than purples. We just decided to move all three girls into one room - which leaves a guest room
I decorated that in pinks and florals…however, I think I’m going to paint the walls a light yellow to brighten it up.
I love adding little touches here and there too - I have a light pink floral picture frame on my desk…and pink candles are always nice as well
Perhaps I am a bit girlie….
I love the pink front door! Though I’m not a huge pink for decor, everyone above has done a great job with it.
I just started bringing a little pink into my home and you can see it here:
