I recently shared 10 Ideas for Frugal – and Beautiful – Art, and Heather @ Wool and Flax shared this beautiful art that her son created. Here’s what she said:

We had some empty frames and a space above our couch that needed art, so I had my three-year-old paint with colors that matched our living room. I painted a neutral background first, and then gave him one color at a time. We ended up with three wonderful pieces of abstract art. It was supposed to be a temporary fix, but they turned out so nice that we’ve kept them there.

I love the way these turned out, and I bet her son is so proud to see his work on display!

Do you have a piece in your home that embodies simplicity and beauty? If you’d like to share it with us in an upcoming showcase, email me at simplenestblog@gmail.com!

Oh my word. I love this! We have the girls’ art all over the house, but to purposefully plan art to emphasize and highlight the colors from the room - that is just divine! Thank you for sharing this inspiration.

This is one my favorites too. We still have fingerpaint art that our twins did 5 years ago. They love that we value their efforts and we get a little nostalgic seeing their tiny little handprints.

I have 2 of my daughter’s artwork on our wall in our dining room. I also have a ribbon with clothespins holding up the older 2’s artwork from school. They love their artwork being displayed. I need to frame some of theirs, too.

When I was painting my canvas for our wall, our oldest boy asked if he could paint one, too. I am so glad that my son & daughter painted their own. I moved around the wall in our living room to make room for them. Now I just can’t wait for our baby to be older to do one of his own. I have the dates on each of them.
